エチオピアの詩人、Tsegaye Gabre-Medhinが亡くなりました。

"the stability and unity of Ethiopia lay in its respect for different cultures."

エチオピア内の色々な文化を尊重することが、植民地支配を主に避けることができた歴史、つまり国の安定と結束に繋がる、と考えていたそうです。African Unionの「賛歌」は彼の詩です。
"All sons and daughters of Africa, flesh of the sun and flesh of the sky
Let us make Africa the tree of life."
